Real world - Vasto mundo

"Walking Around Paris", pictures by Bethania Lima, sep/2012.
I am coming back from a two week vacation time, visiting Paris and London. That’s the recent reason for the silence on this blog. And, as I have lots of stuff to sort out, posts will keep running slowly.
In Paris I had some patterns exhibited at the Indigo Paris show (details here and here too). Unfortunately I did  not  sell any pattern there. Again, experiences abound. And I might do a post on my Indigo impressions in the near future, when I have a bit more of time.
Now I just want to share some pics I took there, things that spoke to my heart, somehow. I realize I am drawn to a certain urban visual language, on top of patterns images, naturally. Wherever I am (see here and here, for instance), there is a certain urban beat that calls my attention and speaks to me. It's true that I love patterns and that I love colours, but have I said that I love cities, as well? Oh, yeah, I am afraid I am a very passionate person, in case you haven't noticed it yet...
The most important thing of this trip was the time spent with my family and my friends. I was so happy to finally meet in person people that I knew only virtually, friends, real friends, made during “our” online ABSPD course. It was so comforting to meet the girls with whom I have been sharing my new career path in the last ten months. There are some impressions, some feelings, some aspects that have to be shared face to face. What a pleasure to meet you, dear Miranda Mol, Eva Marion Seyffarth, Virginia Kamau, Rosie Martinez-Dekker, Veronica Galbraith, Annette Plummer (blog on the way), Wendy Kendall, Susan Driscoll. And, being the lucky girl I am, I even met the sweet Phyllida Coroneo in London, while sharing our stories around a cup of coffee at the V&A. But that is another blog post, maybe. And I can’t talk about this joy, without mentioning Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls, because they were responsible for lunching the course through which those meetings were made possible in the first place.
Hope you enjoy the little visual chronicle of Paris I am sharing now (all pictures, compositions, captions: Bethania Lima, copyright 2012).
