If you’ve been blog hoping, you’re probably arriving
at my blog after visiting Leska’s blog,
who is in the US. She has a clear style, full of swirls and a very interesting
use of type, that I enjoy looking at.
If you’re getting here from somewhere else, this post is part of a blog hop that was curated by the efficient Rosie,
from Believe Creative Studio. The gracious logo was created by the sweet MaJo BV.
Finally, the blog hop begins at Pattern Addict, the blog of Gill Eggleston, the great entrepreneurial
lady of our lovely group, which latest idea was to develop The Little White Book of Surface Pattern Designers, an international directory of surface
pattern designers. But I divert. Let’s go back to our blog hop, ok? By the way,
you’re in Chile now.
My style has been described as a sort of spontaneous
geometry, what I hope is true, but it is also true that I have been experimenting
quite a lot lately. And I always come back to some motifs that I love: flowers
and vase of flowers. Of course those recurrent motifs are very related to my
love of home decor and the influences I get from nature and from other people’s
work, particularly domestic influences. I’d love to see my patterns in the home
decor world.
The mini-collection below showcases a
bit of my style. I hope it contributes towards beautifying your day. From my point of view, the "fly" theme expresses what is going on around me. I mean, I am trying
to get out of my comfort zone and fly away towards the career of surface
pattern designer that I embraced one year ago. It’s a brave move. And it is also a very challenging flight. Thanks to my lovely fellows, it’s not a solo flight. We’re all
butterflies, nurtured by nature, trying to embellish all the surfaces we find
around us. And what other colour would be
better to express the influence of nature in my style than Pantone’s Emerald
green?
Below, you can have a look at the mood board where those influences
are highlighted.

And here is my mini-collection, showcasing a placement
print and two all over prints. Hope you like it.
