Art Every Day Month: 15-Nov-2012

Some motifs keep coming back. Once and once again. Flowers, particularly some flowers, are always present in my drawings. That flower above is one example. This time I designed it on my sketchbook, scanned and cleaned it on Photoshop (left and middle images) and finally live traced it on Illustrator. Michelle, from Pattern&Co, did a lovely tutorial on her blog about this procedure, have a look here if you need to learn how to live trace.
Playing with this motif and colours I came upon the pattern below. I can improve it, because the composition is not fine, but I am a bit too tired for it today, maybe another day?

"Art Every Day Month" is a challenge created and hosted by Leah Pilken Kolidas, an artist based on Boston. More on the project here and here, where you can find the works of other participants.

Thank you for paying a visit.
