The second

"Autumn Air", copyright Bethania Lima, 2012.

Hello, there. Welcome to my post in this hopefully lovely Sunday morning, wherever you are. You probably are coming here from Simi Gauba’s blog, on this second blog hop tour, again organized by the creative and very productive Claire Smillie. Simi is a a professional pattern and product designer and her gorgeous work has appeared at the great Print and Pattern blog. I loved the fact that on top of showing her own work, she features lots of other people’s works on her blog.

If everything has been fine, buy the time you’re visiting here, I am breathing the almost autumn like air of Paris. That’s why I prepared the pattern shown above, inspired by the colours that came to my mind six months ago, at the beginning of the autumn in the south hemisphere.

And what a girl from the south is doing on the north, by the way? Well, I do love Paris, but on top of that, a great coincidence has allowed me to come to Paris and see by myself the Indigo Paris show that will be happening from September 19th to 21st. If you are not aware of it, let me tell you that it is a famous show geared towards "textile design and creation for the fashion industry". Some works of mine and of a team of colleagues are part of the lovely Believe Creative Studio, co-founded and creative directed by Rosie Martinez-Dekker, who I happened to e-meet through the Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design course (ABSPD), first edition. More on this here, where you can find a list of all designers taking part on this team.

The market in the area of SPD is not an easy one, and I may not take it too personal if I don’t sell any pattern, although I hope I do. Anyway, I definitely had won a lot taking part in the adventure of this team. I learned to be a real surface pattern designer, to suffer the joy and the pain of creating for a real market, focusing on the client needs, following trends, having real colour swatches to follow. And how lucky had I been, counting  on my lovely on-line friends, some to be met personally pretty soon, to help me through it. Isn’t that precious? I feel I had been blessed with a lovely autumn breezy. Let me take this opportunity and show you some more autumn like patterns. This way, you also can feel this breeze. And maybe join the team in the future?

Keep on this great blog hop now and don’t miss Esther Cox’s post, specially thought to entertain you on this hopefully gorgeous last summer Sunday of this year in the north hemisphere. From what I have seen of her work and her blog, I think you’ll find a little jewel over there. As well as Simi’s, Esther’s blog also has a generous lovely approach, functioning as a “blog display” of other creative’s gorgeous work.

And don't miss the whole blog hop. If by any chance you dropped hear coming from somewhere else, the blog hop starts on Claire's blog.

PS: If you’re around, don’t miss Indigo Paris and pay a visit to BCS’s stand.
